Inspired by the ‘back to the beginning’ task, I just put down the princely sum of £12.50 on eBay to buy 6 vintage cameras, 3 of which I used as a teenager but somehow lost over the years.
The Prinz Mastermatic III was actually a Boots re-brand, and served me well through my University, when I couldn’t borrow the Leeds Student Newspaper’s Pentax Spotmatic.
This was shot with the Mastermatic, in 1970 – Led Zeppelin at Leeds University Union.
The earliest camera in my current collection dates from 1977 or so – a lovely Pentax KX, which I still occasionally use. That is, if you exclude my Grandfather’s and Dad’s cameras. So these are interesting additions.
Let’s see what the pictures look like.
